Who’s Yoke? The yoke of Jesus is easy and his burden light, because he is a kind and gentle Savior (read Mat 11:28-30). To understand what a yoke is, think of a harness that might be placed on a horse. It is used for control and direction; it keeps the creature in place and ready to serve. Now the difference between you and an animal in this process is that the animal has little choice in the matter of being yoked, but Jesus leaves the choice with us. He offers, “Come to me, all who are weary,” and “Take my yoke upon you.” The question today is, are you ready to place yourself in the harness of Jesus? You must choose! Bob Dylan correctly sang, “Well it might be the devil, and it might be the Lord; but you’re gona have to serve somebody”. So which is it for you: a kind and gentle Savior, or the devil of Hell? Choose wisely!
