When you make a decision to go deep in Jesus - to really put Christ and His Word in the center of your life - things will often get weird with friends and family. Relationships get strained, uncomfortable, confusing. You may even be afraid that something is wrong. Nope; this is normal. Remember: there is new life blossoming in you. Christ is at work, changing you from the inside out - conforming you to His plan (Phil 2:13). The result is that folks around you will say things like, "I hardly know you anymore." Take that as a good sign, my sold-out-to-Jesus friend; this is the plan. God is doing His promised "good work" (Phil 1:6; Ro 6:4; 2 Cor 5:17). Remember also, that you are being prepared for life in Heaven, your true citizenship (Phil 3:20). Don't be discouraged, Christian; give folks time to get used to the "new you."
