| Back in Kiwi - Good morning from Kiwi, beautiful beautiful Kiwi this 24th day of January 2011!
How quickly our lives transition! There is not a sound out and the valleys are shrouded with clouds even before the dawn AND the military post down valley is "dark"...we have gotten used to them having lights (due to a huge hydro electric system put in down there months ago) all this to say that one feels like a different type person in here at Kiwi vs. when on the coast with the cacophony of sounds (NOISE:)) and with all of t... |
| The Latest from the Hooks - May 17, 2010
Greetings one and all this glorious warm and beautiful day at Kiwi!
Does anyone remember the May pole and May baskets??? Hummm-oh well that dates me:)....fine memories. One year I put a little kitten in a May basket and you know what? The people loved that little gift. Anyway-how quickly the weeks fly! From here, we are thoroughly appreciating the good things which continue happening at Kiwi.
#1 We are feeling good, I especially am appreciating about two weeks now with out so much... |
| Hooks 4.5.10 - Greetings once again this time from the coast, not Kiwi!
What a great month+ we have had since our last update to you all.
We have had a wonderful Easter break here on the coast appreciating again the lovely "citified" amenities and great technological conveniences that broker such joy for us especially remembering back in the 1970's and 80's when even a long distance phone call could take an 8 hour day to get through! Enough on the reminiscing:).
We flew out to the coast on a perfect and ... |
| New Update - 1 26 2010 From Hooks Haven
Dear Ones in our more intimate network!
We have a new development in and around Kiwi at the same time perhaps it's not toooo new because we have several two year olds that have been taken in already. The "newishness" of this note is that we now have a city founded just over the mountains from us with a tarmac air strip and all. With the city life comes multiple dynamics as we all know:) and for our people group continuing to bloom from the stone age to the jet ag... |
| Jan 10 Update - Greetings with many praises in our hearts!
First and foremost for us at this moment of time in our lives, is the latest note from Dad Hook (Charlie) telling us of the good news on Mother's latest blood work (it all was normal:)), retention of fluids (is NO longer:)) with Mom's weight back to normal and her strength increasing day by day. Another close family friend writes that in her drop in visits with the folks, "it is so special" to see what God is doing. THANK YOU again each of you who are pr... |

| To the Shepherds - Jack and Corky will occassionally send out a letter specifically directed to Pastors. I thought you would find this interesting and encouraging. It gives a look into Jacks vision for and the completion of his work.

| More on Ponip--sorry about no pictures - Hello there Jake & Dana ++ and +++!
What a day. Full one with other surprises too. And again pictures do say a thousand words so I will just tuck those in right now keeping the worse ones out for those others of you who do not care to see the "real" results of burns from a pit fire.
Little `Ponip' whom I thought was a boy but is a darling little girl, somehow got her foot into the fire pit. You know the rest. I am sooooooooo glad that I have "telfa" wraps which I pray will be really good ... |
| Ivy's Birthday, plus... - March 17-Ivy's birthday is almost here America time:):)....
Hey there each and all of you who are praying for Ponip! Thank you soooo much. Dana you would love her.
Here are a couple more most recent update pictures of Ponip from yesterday's appointment:). She is doing so well. Please keep praying! It is precious to see that tiny little foot actually looking good. She's not cried yet...perhaps I am not doing my job right??? Seriously I like the telfa wrap doing the debrieding so that it's n... |
