| Good news from the Smiths - Dear Friends and Family, March 2011
"Spring has sprung the grass is turning green..." Although here the grass
turns green at a later date with the coming of the rainy season, we have seen evidence
of spring arriving. For example the peach tree near our shed is sporting a new coat
of pink! It reminds me how much the Lord's words are like a spring rain on our
parched soul... |
| Goal Met - I actually spoke to Joel today (from Mexico). He is rejoicing that their goal of $50,000 toward a new medical facility has been met. He asks for prayer as they make firm plans to purchase land--that they would deal with honest sellers. I told him he could count on prayers from our church. |

| Joel and Erica with Thanksgiving Greetings - The latest from the Smiths in Mexico has been posted on the Mission Bulletin Board. Among the important details of the Missionary Letter is this prayer request for Erica's health.
Erica is going to have a lumpectomy on November 4th. Her mother has had breast cancer twice, so after the second episode we decided that Erica should have yearly checkups for cancer. A few years ago she developed a lump that the Dr. has been observing. Over these 4 years or so the lump has changed from having ... |
| Green Shore Greetings - Greetings from the green shores of Lake Valsequillo! We have enjoyed a summer that is green
and pleasant, thanks to the rain we have had over the last 2 months. For a time there, we had rain
every day for 3 weeks! It is a beautiful sight and it reminds us of the blessings we find in our daily
devotions that keep us fed. One other benefit is that our peach tree is just full of peaches! We had
to prop up one of the branches because of the fullness of fruit. It reminds us of the fruit of the
Spirit in Gal... |

| 1.27.10 - Hi Pleasant Hill and New Hope Class:
Hope your Christmas was good. We had a great time with the Smith Family and are glad to be back in the swing of things. I still have some decorations to take down and some of the homes around here are still decorated! We both love Christmas so much and we just got a batch of Christmas cards this week. So we are still celebrating. Makes the cold weather (although not as cold as you have by far!) somewhat worth it. Here is our thank you card from December.... |
